حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، نَحْوَهُ . قَالَ : وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ مُرْسَلٌ ، عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ، مَاتَ مُعَاذٌ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَقُتِلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى غُلَامٌ ابْنُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ ، هَكَذَا رَوَى شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، وَقَدْ رَوَى عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَرَآهُ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى يكنى أبا عيسى ، وأبو ليلى اسمه يسار ، وروي عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : أَدْرَكْتُ عِشْرِينَ وَمِائَةً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
'Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrated from Sufyan with the same chain, a similar hadith,
3- Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila did not hear from Mu'adh bin Jabal. Mu'adh bin Jabal passed away during the caliphate of Umar bin Khattab, and when Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila was six years old.
4- Similarly, Shu'bah also narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila through Hakam.
5- Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrated from Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and he saw him. The kunyah of Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila is Abu Isa, and the name of Abi Laila is Yasar. And it is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila, he said: I met and saw one hundred and twenty companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
3- Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila did not hear from Mu'adh bin Jabal. Mu'adh bin Jabal passed away during the caliphate of Umar bin Khattab, and when Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila was six years old.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : اسْتَبَّ رَجُلَانِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى عُرِفَ الْغَضَبُ فِي وَجْهِ أَحَدِهِمَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَوْ قَالَهَا لَذَهَبَ غَضَبُهُ : أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ " ، وفي الباب ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ صُرَدٍ .
´Mu`adh bin Jabal narrated :` that one of the two men cursed the other next to the Prophet (ﷺ), until anger could be recognized in the face of one of them. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Verily, I know a statement, that if he were to say it, his anger would leave: ‘I seek refuge in Allah from Shaitan, the rejected (A`ūdhu billāhi minash-shaiṭānir-rajīm).’”

(Abdur Rahman bin Abi Layla did not hear from Mu'adh radi Allahu anhu,
al-Nasa'i has narrated this hadith with the chain: Abdur Rahman bin Abi Layla from Ubayy bin Ka'b,
which is a connected chain,
and also, as al-Tirmidhi has mentioned,
this hadith has come from Sulayman bin Surad,
therefore, this hadith is sahih li ghayrihi (authentic due to supporting narrations),
and the hadith of Sulayman bin Surad is agreed upon (muttafaqun alayh).
