´Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated that :` a man said: “O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), I intend to travel, so advise me.” He said, “Hold fast to the Taqwa of Allah, and (say the) Takbir upon every elevated place.” So when the man turned away he said: “O Allah make near for him the distance, and ease for him the journey (Allāhummaṭwi lahul-arḍa wa hawwin `alaihis-safar).”

Hadith Takhrij«سنن ابن ماجہ/الجھاد 8 (2771) (حسن)»
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to a man:` “I advise you to fear Allah and to say the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) in every high place.”
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues: ➊ There is a need to fear Allah and keep piety (taqwa) in mind at all times, but it is especially necessary to observe this during jihad, so that one may easily act upon difficult matters such as sincerity of intention, obedience to the leader of jihad, patience in the face of hardships, and avoidance of betrayal regarding war booty (mal-e-ghanīmah), etc.
➋ Even during ordinary travel, it is Sunnah to say "Allahu Akbar" when ascending to a high place and "Subhan Allah" when descending. (Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Jihad, Chapter: Saying Takbir when ascending a height, Hadith: 2994)
