´Narrated Asma bint Yazid:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reciting: 'Say: "O My slaves who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah, verily, Allah forgives all sins and I do not mind (referring to 39:53)."
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:
1:
O My servants who have transgressed against their own souls (i.e., have committed sins), do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Allah forgives all sins ().
2:
In the narration of Ahmad, after "la yubali" (He does not mind), the next part of the verse is also present: "Indeed, Allah is the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful" (). The author of Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi states: Perhaps the word "la yubali" was also originally part of the verse, which was later abrogated.
Note:
(In the chain of narration, "Shahr ibn Hawshab" is weak.)
