حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيْفُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ : وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الأُكُلِ سورة الرعد آية 4 ، قَالَ : " الدَّقَلُ وَالْفَارِسِيُّ وَالْحُلْوُ وَالْحَامِضُ " ، قَالَ : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ ، وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ نَحْوَ هَذَا ، وَسَيْفُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ هُوَ أَخُو عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَعَمَّارٌ أَثْبَتُ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُخْتِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ .
´Narrated Abu Hurairah:` that the Prophet (ﷺ) commented on: "Some of them We make more excellent than others to eat (13:4)." He said: "The Daqal, the Persian (referring to different kind of dates), the sweet, the bitter."

We give preference to some fruits over others (in taste and deliciousness) ().

The water that irrigates them is the same,
the sunlight that nurtures them,
the heat and the air are the same,
yet their colors,
shapes, and tastes are all different.
