´Narrated Thawban:` "When (the following) was revealed: And those who hoard up gold and silver... (9:34)" He said: "We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during one of his journeys, so some of his Companions said: (This) has been revealed about gold and silver, if we knew which wealth was better then we would use it. So he (ﷺ) said: 'The most virtuous of it is a remembering tongue, a grateful heart, and a believing wife that helps him with his faith.'"

´It was narrated that:` Thawban said: “When the Verse concerning silver and gold was revealed, they said: 'What kind of wealth should we acquire?' Umar said: 'I will tell you about that.' So he rode on his camel and caught up with the Prophet, and I followed him. He said: 'O Messenger of Allah what kind of wealth should we acquire?' He said: 'Let one of you acquire a thankful heart, a tongue that remembers Allah and a believing wife who will help him with regard to the Hereafter.' ”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The remembrance of Allah and gratitude to Allah are very great blessings. Whoever is granted the ability to perform these deeds has attained a tremendous wealth.
➋ The ruling revealed regarding gold and silver is as follows:
“And those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah, give them glad tidings of a painful punishment.” (At-Tawbah, 9:34)
➌ Wealth is a good thing, but even more important are a person’s moral qualities. In particular, patience (sabr) and gratitude (shukr) hold great significance.
➍ A woman who has faith in her heart will herself keep the Hereafter in view and will help her husband to walk on the path of righteousness. Therefore, such a righteous woman is a great blessing from Allah. A Muslim man should value such a woman.
