حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : لَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ بَدْرٍ قِيلَ لَهُ : عَلَيْكَ الْعِيرَ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا شَيْءٌ ، قَالَ : فَنَادَاهُ الْعَبَّاسُ وَهُوَ فِي وَثَاقِهِ لَا يَصْلُحُ ، وَقَالَ :" لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ وَعَدَكَ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ وَقَدْ أَعْطَاكَ مَا وَعَدَكَ " ، قَالَ : صَدَقْتَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was finished at Badr, it was said to him: 'You have to get the caravan, you can not settle for less than that.' Al-'Abbas called out while he was bound up: 'There is no use.' He said: 'For Allah, Most High, has promised you one of the two parties, and He gave you what He promised you.' He said: 'He has said the truth.'"

This refers to the statement of Allah, the Exalted:
﴿وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ اللّهُ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ﴾ (: al-Anfal: 7).
Note:
(There is severe inconsistency found in the narration of Simak from Ikrimah.)
