Hadith 2999

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مِسْمَارٍ هُوَ مَدَنِيٌ ثِقَةٌ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ سورة آل عمران آية 61 ، دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِيًّا ، وَفَاطِمَةَ ، وَحَسَنًا ، وَحُسَيْنًا ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلِي " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Narrated 'Amir bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas:` from his father who said: "When this Ayah was revealed: 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women... (3:61)' the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called 'Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husain and said: 'O Allah! This is my family.'"

Explanation:
1:
"Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves..." (: Aal Imran: 61). This verse was revealed in connection with the mubahala (mutual invocation of Allah's curse) with the Christians of Najran.

In mubahala, both parties are required to bring along their closest family members and swear an oath that Allah, the Exalted, will manifest the falsehood of the liar during the lifetime of the truthful one.
