1:
It is understood from this that the white hairs in the beard and on the head should not be plucked out, because they prevent a person from falling into arrogance and carnal desires, as they produce humility and modesty within a person.

(1) This blessed hadith indicates the virtue of keeping the white hair of the beard and head and not removing them, because regarding the white hair of a believer, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: «هوَ نورُ المؤمنِ» “It is the light of the believer.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Book of Manners, Chapter on Plucking White Hairs, Hadith: 3721) In the narration of Sunan Abu Dawud, there is also this clarification that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whichever Muslim’s hair turns white in the state of Islam, on the Day of Resurrection it will be a light for him.” Furthermore, he also said that Allah Ta’ala writes a good deed for him in exchange for each hair and removes a sin from him in exchange for it. (Sunan Abu Dawud, Book of Grooming, Chapter on Plucking White Hairs, Hadith: 4202).
(2) Here, an objection arises that in some hadiths the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) also commanded the dyeing of white hair. The reconciliation between these two types of hadiths can be that the command to dye white hair was given only to oppose the Jews and Christians, because they do not dye their white hair. It is also possible that when the hair turns white in the state of Islam, then even after dyeing, the believer still becomes deserving of the aforementioned virtue. And Allah knows best.
