Hadith 2753

حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَعَدَ وَسْطَ حَلْقَةٍ ، فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ : " مَلْعُونٌ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، أَوْ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قَعَدَ وَسْطَ الْحَلْقَةِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَأَبُو مِجْلَزٍ اسْمُهُ لَاحِقُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ .
´Narrated Abu Miljaz:` that a man sat in the middle of a circle so Hudhaifah said: "Cursed upon the tongue of Muhammad - or - Cursed, by Allah upon the tongue of Muhammad (ﷺ), is he who sits in the middle of a the circle."

This refers to the person who, instead of sitting at the edge of a gathering, steps over people's necks and sits in the middle of the circle, thereby coming between people.
However, a person who is being awaited specifically so that he may come and sit in the middle of the gathering is not included in this curse.

(There is a break in the chain of narration between Abu Mujliz and Hudhayfah radi Allahu anhu.)
