Hadith 2738

´Narrated Hadrami, the freed slave of the family of Al-Jarud:` from Nafi: "A man sneezed beside Ibn 'Umar and said: 'Al-Hamdulillah Was-Salamu 'Ala Rasulillah. (All praise is due to Allah, and peace upon the Messenger of Allah)'. So Ibn 'Umar said: 'I too say Al-Hamdulillah Was-Salamu 'Ala Rasulillah, but this is not what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught us. He taught us to say: "Al-Hamdulillah 'Ala Kulli Hal (All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance)."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:
1:
That is, I say it in other places, but this is not the place to say it in this manner. Rather, at this point, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has instructed us to say (al-hamdu lillahi ‘ala kulli hal) — "All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance."

2:
In Sahih al-Bukhari (Book of Manners, Chapter: 126), in the narration of Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu), only (al-hamdu lillah) is mentioned. Hafiz Ibn Hajar has established through multiple chains that any words of praise and glorification that are authentically reported in this regard may be said, such as the addition of ﴿al-hamdu lillahi rabbil ‘alamin﴾ is also established.
