´Narrated Anas bin Malik:` that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah! When a man among us meets his brother or his friend should he bow to him?" He said: "No." The man continued: "Should he embrace him and kiss him?" He said: "No." He said: "Should he take his hand and shake it?" He said: "Yes."

Explanation:
1:
Several points are understood from this hadith:
➊
It is prohibited to bow before someone at the time of meeting; therefore, touching someone’s feet by bowing is impermissible.
➋
In this hadith, embracing (mu‘anaqah) and kissing are prohibited when done at every meeting; however, if one meets after returning from a journey, then embracing and kissing are permissible.
➌
From the phrase (أَفَيَأْخُذُ بِيَدِهِ وَيُصَافِحُهُ) it is clear that the handshake (musafahah) should be done with one hand, because the hadith does not mention holding with both hands, rather it is asked, “Should he take his hand and shake it?” Thus, it is understood that the Sunnah method of handshake is to do so with one hand only.
