Hadith 2683

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَشْوَعَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الْجُعْفِيِّ، قَالَ : قَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْكَ حَدِيثًا كَثِيرًا أَخَافُ أَنْ يُنْسِيَنِي أَوَّلَهُ آخِرُهُ فَحَدِّثْنِي بِكَلِمَةٍ تَكُونُ جِمَاعًا ، قَالَ : " اتَّقِ اللَّهَ فِيمَا تَعْلَمُ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِمُتَّصِلٍ ، وَهُوَ عِنْدِي مُرْسَلٌ ، وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْ عِنْدِي ابْنُ أَشْوَعَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، وَابْنُ أَشْوَعَ اسْمُهُ : سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَشْوَعَ .
´Narrated Ibn Ashwa:` from Yazid bin Salamah Al-Ju'fi, he said: "Yazid bin Salamah 'O Messenger of Allah! I heard so many narrations from you that I am afraid the last of them will cause me to forget the first of them. So narrate a statement to me that will encompass them.' So he said: 'Have Taqwa of Allah with what you learn.'"

Note:
(Sa‘id bin Ashwa‘ has not heard from Yazid bin Salamah radi Allahu anhu,
that is, there is a break (inqita‘) in the chain of transmission.)
