Hadith 2646

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .
´Narrated Abu Hurairah:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him."

1:
The virtue of knowledge is established from this hadith.
It is understood that traveling for the acquisition of knowledge is recommended (mustahabb).
Musa (alayhis salam) traveled with Khidr (alayhis salam) to acquire knowledge.
And Jabir bin Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) undertook a journey of one month to learn a hadith from Abdullah bin Qais (radi Allahu anhu).
The scholars of the Salaf used to travel long distances in pursuit of hadith.
If one strives to acquire Islamic knowledge (ilm shar‘i) with sincerity of intention, Allah, Lord of the worlds, makes the path to Paradise easy for him.
