´Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated a Marfu' narration:` "There are three whom Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, loves: A man who stood at night reciting the Book of Allah; a man who spent in charity with his right hand, concealing it"- it seems to me he said "from his left hand"- "and a man who was in a small expedition while his companions were decimated, yet he faced enemy." Another chain reports a similar narration.

Note:
(In the chain of narration, Abu Bakr bin Ayyash used to make many mistakes. Here, he has turned the narration of Abu Dharr radi Allahu anhu into the narration of Ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu, as the author has explicitly stated.)
