Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever eats what is lawful, acts according to the Sunnah, and people are safe from his harm, will enter Paradise." A man asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Are such people found in this time?" He replied: "Such people will also be found in times after me." © Imam Tirmidhi says:

‘With this chain also,’ a similar hadith is narrated from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him). © Imam Tirmidhi says:
I asked Muhammad ibn Isma’il al-Bukhari about this hadith; he too knew this hadith only through the narration of Isra’il, and he did not know the name of Abu Bishr.

Hadith Authentication
Its chain of narration is weak.
◄ Al-Hakim [104/4] and al-Dhahabi (both) have declared it authentic.
◄ On the other hand, Hafiz al-Dhahabi himself has written regarding «ابوبشر عن ابي وائل»:
«لا يعرف»
“He is not known.” [الكاشف3 273]
◄ Al-Dhahabi’s authentication is nullified by his own criticism, and al-Hakim was lenient, therefore reliance cannot be placed solely on his authentication unless the narrator is from among his teachers, teachers of his teachers, or from that group who were very well-known for their narrations.
Note ①:
Hafiz Ibn al-Jawzi, without any chain of narration, has reported from Imam Ahmad that he strongly rejected this hadith and said:
“I do not know Abu Bishr.” etc. [العللا المتناهيه 2 263ح 1252]
Note ②:
In the monthly magazine Al-Hadith Hazro [عدد 24 ص48], this hadith has been described as hasan, which is abrogated according to the research in Adhwa al-Masabih.
