´Abu Ad-Darda' narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:` "Shall I not inform you of what is more virtuous than the rank of fasting, Salat, and charity?" They said: "But of course!" He said: "Making peace between each other. For indeed spoiling relations with each other is the Haliqah." It has been related that the Prophet SAW said: "It is the Haliqah, I do not speak of what cuts hair, but it severs the religion."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:
1:
It is understood from this that reconciling and fostering harmony among people is superior to voluntary acts of worship (nafl ‘ibadah), because it is a means of holding firmly to the rope of Allah and preventing division and discord among Muslims. Whereas mutual resentment and enmity are the root cause of religious corruption.

Benefits and Issues:
➊
The esteemed researcher, while referencing the chain of narration (isnad) of this narration, writes that this narration is weak in its chain.
However, the same text is narrated in the Muwatta of Imam Malik with reference to the statement of Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib rahimahullah, and its chain is authentic. Meanwhile, Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has declared this very narration to be authentic.
➋
In the rights of Allah (huquq Allah), the foundation and protection of the virtues and ranks of the most important obligations (fara'id) require that a Muslim be a commendable Muslim in social life.
If a person is diligent in fulfilling the rights of Allah but fails in the rights of the servants (huquq al-‘ibad), then merely fulfilling the rights of Allah will not, as is due, attain the desired virtues and ranks.
Rather, there is a fear that even those good deeds (hasanat) may be lost.
