Benefits and Issues:
➊ On the Day of Resurrection, the intercession (shafa‘ah) of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will be of various kinds, for example: intercession for entry into Paradise, intercession for being taken out of Hellfire, intercession for the elevation of ranks of some believers, and so on.
➋ The intercession that will be for those who committed major sins (kabirah) will be for their removal from Hellfire. As for major shirk (shirk akbar) and that disbelief (kufr) which expels one from Islam, there will be no intercession for those who commit such disbelief and shirk, even if they consider themselves Muslims. Similarly, hypocrites in creed (‘itiqadi munafiq) will also be deprived of intercession.
