Brief Explanation
1؎: The command to throw dust (upon the face of one who is praised) is perhaps because when someone is praised in his presence, there is a likelihood that pride and arrogance may develop within him, and there is a risk that he may consider his faults as virtues and look down upon his fellow Muslim brother. Therefore, the one who praises should refrain from undue praise of anyone, and whoever senses the aforementioned danger should protect himself, for he will gain nothing except deprivation.
