´Abu Hazin narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd asked:` "Did the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) eat Naqi – meaning refined (flour)?” So Sahl said: “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) did not see Naqi until he met Allah.” It was said to him: “Did you have sifters during the time of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)?” He said: “There were no sifters for us.” They said: “How did you prepare the barley?”He said: “We would blow it so (the husk) would fly off of it, then we would add water so we could knead it.” (Hasan)

Hadith Commentary:

Consuming this type of flour is beneficial for health and advantageous.
Refined flour (maida) often causes constipation and becomes a cause of hemorrhoids.
Especially nowadays, the imported refined flour that is coming in, Allah knows what things are mixed into it; it is extremely heavy and is proving to be the cause of a hundred diseases, except as Allah wills.

Hadith Commentary:
Barley flour or wheat flour—they would only blow on it and suffice with that.
They did not sift it with a sieve.
Since, in that era, the food of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) was only barley, it is mentioned in the hadith.
From a medical perspective, this type of flour is very beneficial for health.
Physicians recommend only this type of flour.
Flour from which the bran is removed is often constipating and becomes a cause of hemorrhoids.
Refined flour (maida) settles in the intestines.
The same is the case with "naan" and similar items.
These unnatural things are against the principles of hygiene and are the cause of a hundred diseases.
And Allah knows best.
