´'Abdullah bin Abi Al-Hudhail said:` " There were some people from(the tribe of) Rabiah with 'Amr bin Al-'As, so a man from(the tribe of) Bakr bin Wa'il said: "Either the Quraish will stop, or Allah will place this matter among the masses of the Arabs other than them.' So 'Amr bin Al-'As said: 'You have lied, I heard the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) saying: "The Quraish are the leaders of the people, in the good and the bad, until the Day of Judgement."

Explanation:
1:
That is, the Quraysh should refrain from immorality and wickedness.
2:
That is, in both the era of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) and Islam, the Quraysh are rulers and caliphs, and the caliphate should remain among them until the Day of Judgment. It is a separate matter that the Muslims did not accept this command of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), just as they are not accepting other commands of the Messenger.
