´Abu Hurairah said:` "Idolaters from the Quraish came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) quarreling about Al-Qadar. So this Ayah was revealed: "The day they will be dragged on their faces into the Fire (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell." Verily we have created all things with Qadar.

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: From this blessed verse, it is understood that Allah, the Exalted, has created everything in a specific manner, and He has appointed for everything a fixed and determined time. He grants it respite so that it may reach its ultimate purpose and end. His dealing with nations is also according to this same principle: when a nation adopts the path of rebellion, He does not seize it immediately; rather, He grants it such respite that it may manifest all its capacities for good and evil, so that the proof is established against it and on the Day of Resurrection it cannot present any excuse.
