´Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:` "The Messenger of Allah(S.A.W) came to visit me while I was ill at Banu Salamah. I said : 'O Prophet of Allah(S.A.W)! How shall I divide my wealth among my children?' But he did not say anything to me, until the following was revealed: Allah commands you regarding your children's (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females."

1؎: In the next narration, which is from the Sahihayn, there is mention of sisters instead of children, and the correct account is indeed that at that time Jabir radi Allahu anhu did not have any children. Therefore, despite this narration being authentic, it falls under the category of "shaadh" (anomalous). (See the next narration.)

Hadith Commentary:
Benefits and Issues:
In the narration of Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma, where there is mention of prayer in general terms, what is meant is voluntary (nafl) prayer. This is because in the narration of his son Salim, it is explicitly stated that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not perform obligatory (fard) prayers on his mount.

Benefits and Issues:
Shaykh al-Albani has declared this narration to be hasan (good).
And he further stated that these girls were not the daughters of Thabit ibn Qays.
Rather, they were the daughters of Sa'd ibn Rabi' radi Allahu anhu.
As is also mentioned in the narration that follows,
that the aforementioned girls were the daughters of Sa'd ibn Rabi' radi Allahu anhu.
And in this division, the original issue will be calculated from 24: sixteen shares (two-thirds) for the daughters, three shares (one-eighth) for the wife, and the remaining five shares will go to the uncle.
