Narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) visited a man who was suffering from tuberculosis. He said: "Rejoice, for Allah the Exalted says: This is My fire which I impose upon My sinful servant so that it may become his share from the fire of Hell."

1؎ : That is, he will be protected from the fire of Hell in the Hereafter. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would also say the following when visiting a sick person: «لابأس طهور إن شاء الله» .

´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) visited a sick person, due to an illness that he was suffering from and Abu Hurairah was with him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Be of good cheer, for Allah says: ‘It is My fire which I have causes to overwhelm My believing slave in this world, to be his share of the Fire in the Hereafter.”

Benefits and Issues: ➊ Visiting the sick is a right of a Muslim upon another Muslim.
➋ The purpose of visiting the sick is to comfort the patient and to lessen his sorrow and anxiety.
➌ Due to illness, a Muslim’s sins are forgiven.
➍ By being patient over the calamities of this world, one attains salvation from Hell.
