´" Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:` "If there was anything that could overcome the Decree then the (evil) eye would overcome it, and when you are requested to wash (due to it) then wash."
Hadith Referenceسنن ترمذي / كتاب الطب عن رسول اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم / 2062
1؎: In the era of ignorance (Jahiliyyah), one of the remedies for the evil eye (nazar bad) was that if there was a fear of someone casting the evil eye, they would have that person perform a ritual bath (ghusl), and then the water from that bath would be used to bathe the one afflicted by the evil eye. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam granted legitimacy to this practice, and said that if someone is asked to provide such a bath, he should not take offense, but should perform the ritual bath and give the water used for bathing to the one afflicted by the evil eye. However, the method of this bath is somewhat different from the general ritual bath; for details, refer to our book "Masnoon Wazaif wa Azkar aur Shafi Tareeqa-e-Ilaj."
