´Qatadah bin An-Nu'man narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:` "When Allah loves a slave, He prevents him from the world, just as one of you prevents his sick from water." Another chain reports a similar narration.

1؎: When a servant becomes beloved to Allah, then the most harmful thing for him is this world. That is why Allah, the Exalted, protects and safeguards His beloved servant from the world in exactly the same way as one of you protects his sick person from food and water, because in the illness he is afflicted with, food and water are extremely harmful and detrimental for him.

Explanation: 1: When a servant becomes beloved to Allah, then the thing most harmful to him is his worldly life. Therefore, Allah the Exalted protects and safeguards His beloved servant from the world in the same way that one of you protects his sick patient from food and drink, because, due to the illness he is afflicted with, food and drink are extremely harmful and detrimental for him.
