Hadith 200

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى الصَّدَفِيِّ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يُؤَذِّنُ إِلَّا مُتَوَضِّئٌ " .
´Abu Hurairah narrated that :` Allah's Messenger said: "None should call the Adhan except for one with Wudu."
Brief Explanation
1؎ : It is better that the call to prayer (adhan) be given while in a state of ablution (wudu), and although the hadith of the chapter is weak, the narrations of Wa’il and Ibn ‘Abbas serve as supporting evidence for it.

Note:
(In the chain of narration, Mu’awiyah bin Yahya Sadafi is weak, and there is also a break (inqita’) between Zuhri and Abu Hurairah in the chain.)
