The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was the living embodiment of the Noble Qur’an; thus, he neither used foul language nor was he accustomed to indecent speech. Rather, acting upon the Noble Qur’an was his very nature. When someone asked Sayyidah Aishah radi Allahu anha about the character of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, she replied:
“Do you not recite the Qur’an? His character was the Qur’an itself.”
(Sahih Muslim, Salat al-Musafirin, Hadith: 1739(746))
The Noble Qur’an has testified to the character and conduct of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in these words:
“Indeed, you are upon an exalted standard of character.”
(al-Qalam 68:4)
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“Allah Almighty does not like foul language and obscene speech.”
