باب مَا جَاءَ أَىُّ الشَّرَابِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَChapter: ….
Hadith 1896
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، وَيُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ : أَيُّ الشَّرَابِ أَطْيَبُ ؟ قَالَ : الْحُلْوُ الْبَارِدُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَهَكَذَا رَوَى عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرْسَلا ، وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ .
It is narrated from Zuhri that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked: Which drink is the best? He replied: "The sweet and cold drink." © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- Similarly, ‘Abdur Razzaq also narrated from Ma‘mar, Ma‘mar from Zuhri, and Zuhri narrated it mursal from the Prophet (peace be upon him),
2- This is more authentic than the hadith of Ibn ‘Uyaynah (may Allah have mercy on him).

(Zuhri is a Tabi‘i; his narration from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is mursal. The scholars have classified the mursal narrations of Zuhri as the weakest type of mursal. However, in the preceding hadith, Zuhri has narrated this hadith with a chain from ‘Urwah from Umm al-Mu’minin ‘A’ishah radi Allahu anha; therefore, it is authentic.)
