Safinah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I ate the meat of a houbara bird with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is gharib (strange),
2- We know it only through this chain,
3- Ibn Abi Fudayk has also narrated from Ibrahim bin Umar bin Safinah, and he is also called Burayd bin Umar bin Safinah.

1:
The hubara (i.e., bustard) is a bird resembling a duck, with a long neck and an ashen (grayish) color. Its beak is also somewhat long. It is found in forests.
Note:
(In the chain of narration, Ibrahim bin Umar bin Safinah, whose title is Bariyah, is unknown (mastur), and Ibrahim bin Abdur Rahman bin Mahdi al-Basri is a trustworthy (saduq) narrator, but some rejected (munkar) narrations have come from him.)
