Hadith Commentary: There is consensus among all scholars regarding the permissibility of eating chicken. This refers to Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, who was a freed slave of the Banu Tay. He met Anas ibn Malik radi Allahu anhu, and from him, ‘Ikrimah and al-Awza‘i and others have narrated.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
From this hadith, it is understood that the meat of chicken is lawful (halal) and its consumption is permissible. It is an excellent, delicious, and nutritious meat. However, the broiler chicken that is common among us nowadays neither has taste nor strength; this poor creature cannot even bear its own weight, so how can it provide strength to others?

(2)
In any case, chicken is halal, and those who, due to asceticism and piety, consider it disliked (makruh), their dislike holds no weight.
Wallahu al-musta‘an.
