Brief Explanation
1؎: That is, the narration in the chain after Abu’l-Malih which comes through «عن أبیہ» from Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Arubah, compared to this narration of Shu‘bah in which there is no mention of «عن أبیہ», the narration of Shu‘bah is more authentic, because Shu‘bah’s memory is stronger than that of Sa‘id.

Urdu marginal note:
Predatory animal skins are generally used by arrogant people, therefore their use has been prohibited, just as Muslim men have been prohibited from using gold and silk. The skins of lions, leopards, etc., were commonly used. It is possible that they were used without tanning, but this is a less likely possibility. The correct view is the first one.
