Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wore a new garment, he would mention its name, such as turban, shirt, or cloak, then he would say: «اللهم لك الحمد أنت كسوتنيه أسألك خيره وخير ما صنع له وأعوذ بك من شره وشر ما صنع له» "O Allah! All praise is for You, You have clothed me with this, I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it was made for, and I seek refuge with You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for." © Imam Tirmidhi says:

Benefits and Issues:

Reciting the aforementioned supplication upon wearing new clothes is Sunnah and recommended, and likewise, one should supplicate for the person wearing the clothes.
➋ Whether it is clothing or any other thing—

In everything, there are both aspects of good and evil.
The goodness in clothing is that it serves as a covering (satr) and adornment for a person, and is beneficial according to the season.
If a person wears it and engages in righteous deeds, then this is its goodness, and the opposite of this is its evil.
Furthermore, it is also possible that a person wears it for show and walks around arrogantly; then this is even more reprehensible.
