Hadith 1764

Umm al-Mu’minin Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the most beloved garment to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the shirt (qamees).

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
Perhaps the reason for this is that a sheet (chadar) has to be managed, whereas after wearing a shirt (qamees), the hands can be used more easily.
And the shirt (qamees) of the Arabs reaches down to the bottom, so if it is made of thick cloth, then even without an izar (lower garment), the private parts remain covered.
And Allah knows best.
