Hadith 1760

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ : " نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رُكُوبِ الْمَيَاثِرِ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، وَمُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَحَدِيثُ الْبَرَاءِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَقَدْ رَوَى شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ نَحْوَهُ ، وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ .

Barā’ bin ‘Āzib (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from riding on a saddle made of silk. The narrator says: There is an incident mentioned in this hadith. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- The hadith of Barā’ (may Allah be pleased with him) is Hasan Sahih,
2- In this chapter, there is also narration from ‘Ali and Mu‘āwiyah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Shu‘bah has also narrated a similar hadith from Ash‘ath bin Abi Sha‘thā’, and there is an incident mentioned in this hadith.
