باب مَا جَاءَ فِي النَّهْىِ عَنِ التَّرَجُّلِ، إِلاَّ غِبًّاChapter: ….
Hadith 1756
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ .
‘With this chain also,’ there is a similar narration from Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him). © Imam Tirmidhi says:

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ التَّرَجُّلِ إِلَّا غِبًّا " .
'Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade combing, except if it is done every other day.
