1؎: As for such activities in which there is no religious or scholarly benefit, nor any legitimate (shar‘i) purpose—such as playing games, playing cards, playing chess, watching television, listening to the radio, etc.—these are, in any case, prohibited (haram), futile (laghw), and disliked (makruh) acts. To engage in them after the ‘Isha prayer further increases their prohibition or reprehensibility.
