حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَدَّادُ، عَنْ
عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ
ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ : صَنَعْتُ سَيْفِي عَلَى سَيْفِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ ، وَزَعَمَ سَمُرَةُ أَنَّهُ صَنَعَ سَيْفَهُ عَلَى سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكَانَ حَنَفِيًّا " قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ، وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، فِي عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الْكَاتِبِ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ .
Ibn Sirin says: I made my sword like the sword of Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), and Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) thought that he had made his sword like the sword of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and his sword was made in the style of the tribe of Banu Hanifah. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is gharib; we know it only through this chain,
2- Yahya bin Saeed al-Qattan spoke about Uthman bin Sa’d al-Katib and considered him weak in memory.
