Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues:
➊ To shoot a single arrow, fire a single bullet, or throw a single shell in jihad in the path of Allah is a cause of great virtue and high rank.

➋ Freeing a male or female slave is virtuous, but if the slave is a Muslim, it is far superior, and this is an excellent means of attaining the aforementioned guarantee.

Benefits and Issues:

The primary purpose of shooting an arrow is to harm the enemy in battle, but if someone's thrown arrow does not injure or kill any enemy, he should not think that he will not receive its reward.

If the intention is correct, even an incomplete action is not devoid of reward.

The same ruling applies to missiles, bombs, and cannon shells: if they do not hit the target, the one who fired the weapon still receives reward, because his effort and intention are to destroy the target.

Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
There is advancement in both the meaning and the reward between delivering an arrow and shooting an arrow. Shooting an arrow refers to merely throwing the arrow, whether it reaches the enemy or not, whether it hits someone or not. Delivering an arrow means that the arrow hits the correct target and fulfills the purpose for which it was shot. It is evident that there is a great difference between the two; therefore, there is also a great difference in reward and recompense.
