باب مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ الْغُبَارِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِChapter: ….
Hadith 1633
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَلِجُ النَّارَ رَجُلٌ بَكَى مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَعُودَ اللَّبَنُ فِي الضَّرْعِ ، وَلَا يَجْتَمِعُ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هُوَ مَوْلَى أَبِي طَلْحَةَ مَدَنِيٌّ .
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who weeps out of fear of Allah will not enter Hell until the milk returns to the udder (and that is impossible), and the dust from jihad and the smoke of Hell will not be gathered together." __REF_N__ Imam Tirmidhi says:

“Until milk [returns to the udder]”—and this is impossible, both rationally and customarily. The purpose is that it is impossible for the one who weeps out of fear of Allah to enter Hellfire. Similarly, one who engages in jihad with sincerity can never enter Hellfire.

The meaning of the hadith is that just as milk cannot return to the udder, likewise, the one who weeps out of fear of Allah will not be cast into Hellfire.
Similarly, the one who sets out in the path of jihad also cannot enter Hell,
because jihad is a means of salvation from Hellfire for the mujahid.
It is thus understood that jihad holds great virtue.
However, this reward is for that mujahid who has refrained from major sins.
