Hadith 1599

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، نَحْوَهُ .

A similar hadith is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) through this chain as well.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمُهَلَّبِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِوَفْدِ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ : " آمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا خُمُسَ مَا غَنِمْتُمْ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the delegation of Abdul Qais: "I command you to pay the khums (i.e., one-fifth) from the spoils of war." __REF_ Imam Tirmidhi says: There is a story in this hadith 1. __REF_ Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is Hasan Sahih.
