Hadith 1587

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ بَجَالَةَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ كَانَ لَا يَأْخُذُ الْجِزْيَةَ مِنْ الْمَجُوسِ ، حَتَّى أَخْبَرَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَخَذَ الْجِزْيَةَ مِنْ مَجُوسِ هَجَرَ " ، وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ كَلَامٌ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ هَذَا ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
It is narrated from Bajalah bin Abda that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) did not take jizyah from the Magians until Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had taken jizyah from the Magians of Hajar.
