حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ , عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ : " ضَحَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكَبْشٍ أَقْرَنَ , فَحِيلٍ يَأْكُلُ فِي سَوَادٍ , وَيَمْشِي فِي سَوَادٍ , وَيَنْظُرُ فِي سَوَادٍ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ , لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ .
´Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) slaughtered a horned male ram of fine pedigree, (around) his mouth was black, and his legs were black, and (around) his eyes was black.

(1) The sacrifice of rams, sheep, and goats, etc., is permissible.
(2) It is recommended (mustahabb) to sacrifice a ram with horns, because the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) himself used to sacrifice rams with horns.
(3) From the blessed hadith, the recommendation of sacrificing rams that are horned, piebald, and male is understood. Furthermore, it is also permissible to sacrifice a castrated animal, as is mentioned in another hadith.
