´'Umar bin Al-Khattab said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stoned, Abu Bakr stoned, and I stoned. If I didn't dislike that I add to the Book of Allah. I would have written it in the Mushaf, for I fear that there will come a people and they will not find it in the Book of Allah, so they will disbelieve in it."

Brief Explanation
1؎: That is, I would certainly have written the verse of rajm («الشيخ والشيخة إذا زنيا فأرجموهما البتة نكالا من الله ...») in the Mushaf.
2؎: From this statement of Umar radi Allahu anhu, one can gauge how deeply concerned the pious predecessors (salaf saliheen rahimahumullah) were regarding the commands and obligations of Allah. The apprehension expressed by Umar radi Allahu anhu proved to be one hundred percent correct; thus, a group among the Mu'tazilah and Khawarij denied the punishment of rajm. Alas, a thousand times alas! Even in the Indian subcontinent, there are some such reckless people who deny this punishment. What other reason could there be for denying rajm except that the intellectual foundation of such people is the rejection of hadith? Otherwise, how is it possible that ahadith established with authentic chains of transmission and narrated by a large number of narrators are still denied?
