Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed ten people because of wine: the one who squeezes it, the one for whom it is squeezed, the one who drinks it, the one who carries it, the one to whom it is carried, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who consumes its price, the one who buys it, and the one for whom it is bought. __REF_N__ Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- This hadith from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is gharib, 2- And a similar hadith is also narrated from Ibn Abbas, Ibn Mas’ud, and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), who narrate it from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Drinking alcohol is disobedience to Allah and a major sin (kabirah). Moreover, alcohol is the cause of many evils.
➋ Any kind of association with alcohol leads to distance from Allah’s mercy and is a cause for Allah’s curse.
➌ By “the one who has it pressed” is meant the person who instructs an employee to press grapes to extract juice for making alcohol. And “the one who presses” is that employee who carries out this order. And “the one for whom it is pressed” refers to the customer who has made an agreement with the maker of alcohol that he will purchase the prepared alcohol. Or it may refer to the person for whom the alcohol is being prepared to be served, for example, a special guest, friend, or relative, etc.
➍ “The one for whom it is carried” refers to: (a) It can also be the person to whom the alcohol is intended to be presented, whether he wants to drink it or buy it, or it is being given to him as a gift. In the first hadith, “the one to whom it is carried” can also have all these meanings, which are included in the second clause (b).
➎ “The one who consumes its price” refers to the person who gains financial benefit from its trade.
➏ Assisting anyone in a sinful act is equivalent to participating in that sin, even if that assistance appears to be minor.
➐ When it is known or suspected that a certain act will lead to a certain sin, one should refrain from performing that act, whether for compensation or without compensation.
