´It was narrated that 'Abdul-Majid bin Wahb said:` "Adda' bin Khalid bin Hawdhah said to me: 'Shall I not read to you a letter that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), wrote to me?' I said: 'Yes.' So he took out a letter. In it was: 'This is what 'Adda' bin Khalid bin Hawdhah bought [from] Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) He bought from him a slave' or 'a female slave, having no ailments, nor being a runaway, not having any malicious behavior. Sold by a Muslim to a Muslim.'"
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues: ➊ When buying and selling something valuable, a written document should be prepared.
➋ "A slave or a slave-girl was purchased." That is, in the document, the word "slave" or "slave-girl" was written. This doubt is from Ubad bin Laith, who is the teacher of the teacher of Imam Ibn Majah.
➌ The meaning of (ghā'ilah) has also been explained as: the slave does not have the habit of running away, stealing, committing adultery, or any other such bad habit; and it has also been explained to mean that the slave is not stolen property; and it has also been explained to mean that the seller is not concealing any defect of the slave.
➍ The meaning of (khabathah) has been explained as both unlawful (haram) and as a moral defect.
➎ The meaning of a Muslim selling to a Muslim is that this sale will be considered under all those principles and regulations that exist in Islamic law.
