Hadith Takhrij«انظر ما قبلہ ( تحفة الأشراف : 16023) (صحیح)»
Brief Explanation
1؎: The sum total of all this is that among the students of Aswad, only Abu Ishaq al-Sabi‘i has narrated this hadith with the wording of «كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ينام وهو جنب لايمس ماء», whereas his other students have narrated it with the wording of «إنه كان يتوضأ قبل أن ينام». However, the addition of any word by a trustworthy (thiqa) narrator, as long as it does not contradict (the narration), does not prevent the hadith from being authentic. And Abu Ishaq al-Sabi‘i is a trustworthy narrator. Furthermore, in one narration of Ahmad (6/102), there is explicit mention of hearing from Aswad. Also, Sufyan al-Thawri has narrated this from Abu Ishaq al-Sabi‘i, and the narration of Sufyan al-Thawri from Abu Ishaq al-Sabi‘i is considered the most reliable (see Sahih Abu Dawud, no. 234, and Sunan Ibn Majah, no. 583).
