English Commentary:
1:
This is another interpretation of the hadith ((Innama al-ma’u min al-ma’i)) — “Ritual bath (ghusl) becomes obligatory upon ejaculation,”
that is, if one sees intercourse in a dream and finds semen on the clothes, then ritual bath (ghusl) is obligatory, otherwise not.
However, according to Allamah al-Albani:
This statement of Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma is also without the phrase “fi al-ihtilam” (in the context of a wet dream),
this wording is also not established from his statement because its chain of narration is weak,
and ((Innama al-ma’u min al-ma’i)) is authentic due to supporting evidences.
Note:
(Sharik ibn Abdullah al-Qadi is weak in the chain,
and this is mawquf (stopped at the Companion),
but the original hadith ((Innama al-ma’u min al-ma’i)) is authentic as a marfu’ (attributed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam),
as has been mentioned above,
and the author has mentioned the ahadith reported in the chapter,
but in the marfu’ narration, the phrase “fi al-ihtilam” does not appear.)
