Hadith 3954
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أنا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ مَالِكَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَثْعَمِيَّ كُلِّمَ فِي سُهْمَانِ الْهُجْنِ، فَقَالَ: «لَا أُسْهِمُ لَهُ إِنَّمَا السَّهْمُ لِلْفَرَسِ الْعَرَبِيِّ»
Sulaiman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Malik bin Abdullah Khath'ami was asked about the share of mule-bred horses, he said: "I will not assign a share to a mule-bred horse; the share is only for an Arab horse."
Hadith 3955
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَةَ قَرَظَةَ، امْرَأَةَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنْ يُجِيزَ هَجِينًا لِمَوْلًى لَهُمْ فِي الْمَقَاسِمِ، فَلَمَّا عَرَضَهُ قَالَ: «تُرِيدُونِي عَلَى أَنْ أُجِيزَ هَذَا؟ لَا أُجِيزُهُ أَبَدًا»
Sulaiman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Bint Qurazah, who was the wife of Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with them both), sent a recommendation to Malik bin Abdullah for her slave to be given a share of a mule-bred horse. When the horse was presented, he said: "Are you forcing me to approve this? I will never approve it."
