Hadith 3931
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَابْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ - يَزِيدُ أَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا انْصَرَفَ عَنْ حُنَيْنٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ فَأَخَذَتْ سَمُرَةٌ بِرِدَائِهِ، فَقَالَ: «رُدُّوا عَلَيَّ رِدَائِي، تَخَافُونَ عَلَيَّ الْبُخْلَ، وَاللَّهِ لَوْ أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ مِثْلَ سَمُرِ تِهَامَةَ نَعَمًا لَقَسَمْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ، ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُونِي بَخِيلًا، وَلَا جَبَانًا، وَلَا كَذَّابًا» فَلَمَّا كَانَ عِنْدَ قِسْمَةِ الْخُمُسِ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْتَحِلُّهُ مِخْيَطًا أَوْ خِيَاطًا، فَقَالَ: «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْغُلُولَ، فَإِنَّهُ عَارٌ وَشَنَارٌ وَنَارٌ»، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ وَبَرَةً مِنْ ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا يَحِلُّ لِي مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا مِثْلُ هَذَا إِلَّا الْخُمُسُ وَهُوَ مَرْدُودٌ عَلَيْكُمْ»
Amr bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) and Amr bin Shu'aib (may Allah have mercy on him) narrate from their father, who narrates from his grandfather, that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the Battle of Hunayn, a berry tree caught hold of his cloak. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Return my cloak to me. Do you fear miserliness from me? By Allah! If Allah were to give me wealth equal to the trees of Tihamah, I would distribute it among you, and then you would not find me miserly, cowardly, or a liar." Then, when the distribution of the khums took place, a man came and demanded the lawful right to a needle or thread. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Do not commit treachery in the spoils of war, for it is disgrace, infamy, and fire on the Day of Resurrection." Then he picked up a fiber of wool from the back of his camel and said: "Of the wealth which Allah has given you, even this fiber is not lawful for me, except for the khums, and that too is returned to you."
Hadith 3932
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ (1)بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا ظَهَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَهْلِ حُنَيْنٍ سَأَلَهُ النَّاسُ وَازْدَحَمُوا عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَلْجَوْهُ إِلَى شَجَرَةٍ عَلِقَتْ رِدَاءَهُ، فَقَالَ: « عَلَامَ تَضْطَرُّونِي إِلَى هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ ؟ حَتَّى عَلِقَتْ رِدَائِي، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ كَانَ هَذَا الْوَادِي نَعَمًا كُلُّهُ لَقَسَمْتُهُ فِيكُمْ » .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prevailed over the people of Hunayn, the people began to ask him for wealth and crowded around him so much that they pushed him towards a tree, upon which his cloak got hung. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why are you pushing me towards this tree? By Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), if this valley were all wealth and riches, I would distribute it among you."
Hadith 3933
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَلَسَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ يُؤْتَى بِالْغَنَائِمِ، فَأَخَذَ وَبَرَةً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ صَغِيرَةً، فَأَمْسَكَهَا بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، وَاللَّهِ مَا يَحِلُّ لِي مِنَ الْفَيْءِ قَدْرُ هَذِهِ الْوَبَرَةِ إِلَّا الْخُمُسُ، وَإِنَّ الْخُمُسَ لَمَرْدُودٌ فِيكُمْ، فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ، وَأَدُّوا الْمِخْيَطَ وَالْخِيَاطَ، وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْغُلُولَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَارٌ وَنَارٌ وَشَنَارٌ»
Matlib bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: It reached him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of the Battle of Hunayn picked up a small piece of wool lying on the ground and, holding it between two fingers, said: "O people! By Allah, nothing from the spoils of war is lawful for me, not even as much as this wool, except for the khums (one-fifth), and even the khums is distributed back among you. So fear Allah and return the needle and thread (if taken), and know that betrayal is disgrace, fire, and infamy on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 3934
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ، يَقُولُ: أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِخَيْبَرَ بِقِلَادَةٍ فِيهَا خَرَزٌ وَذَهَبٌ، وَهِيَ مِنَ الْغَنَائِمِ تُبَاعُ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالذَّهَبِ الَّذِي فِي الْقِلَادَةِ، فَنُزِعَ وَحْدَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ»
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A necklace was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Khaybar, which had beads and gold in it, and it was from the spoils of war. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the gold be separated, then said: "Sell gold for gold, equal in weight."
Hadith 3935
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ عَلَى الْغَنَائِمِ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ، فَكَانَ لَا يَأْتِي أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَشْتَرِي مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ دَابَّةً، أَوْ خَادِمًا، أَوْ مَتَاعًا، أَوْ ثَوْبًا بِهِ دَاءٌ أَوْ عَيْبٌ يُرِيدُ رَدَّهُ إِلَّا قَبِلَهُ، وَمحَا الثَّمَنَ عَنْهُ "
Yahya bin Jabir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: He was appointed over the spoils of war in the land of Rome, and if any Muslim wanted to return a slave, animal, goods, or clothing after finding a defect in it, he would deduct its price.
Hadith 3936
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَغْنَمِ حَتَّى يُقَسَّمَ»
Makhul (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded that war booty should not be sold before it is distributed.
