Hadith 3897
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ عَلَى نَفْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ كِرْكِرَةُ، فَمَاتَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّهُ فِي النَّارِ»، فَنَظَرُوا، فَوَجَدُوا عِنْدَهُ كِسَاءً قَدْ غَلَّهُ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: There was a man (Karkarah) appointed over the voluntary charity of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He died, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is in Hell." The companions looked at his belongings and found a stolen cloak with him.
Hadith 3898
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، أَنَّ شَيْبَةَ بْنَ نِصَاحٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مُغِيثٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ قُزْمَانَ مُتَلَفِّفًا فِي خَمِيلَةٍ فِي النَّارِ» يُرِيدُ أَسْوَدَ غَلَّ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw Quzman wrapped in a blanket in the Fire; he was the one who had committed treachery regarding the spoils of war."
Hadith 3899
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَرْزُوقٍ، مَوْلَى تُجِيبَ عَنْ حَنَشٍ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، قَالَ: فَتَحْنَا مَدِينَةً بِالْمَغْرِبِ يُقَالُ لَهَا جَرْبَةُ، فَقَامَ فِينَا رُوَيْفِعُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، فَقَالَ: لَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ: «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَطَأْ جَارِيَةً مِنَ السَّبْيِ حَتَّى يَسْتَبْرِئَهَا بِحَيْضَةٍ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَبِعْ نَصِيبَهُ مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَرْكَبْ دَابَّةً فِي فَيْءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَعْجَفَهَا رَدَّهَا فِيهِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَلْبَسْ ثَوْبًا مِنْ فَيْءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخْلَقَهُ رَدَّهُ فِيهِ»
Ruwaif bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not have intercourse with a slave woman until she becomes pure from one menstruation, and should not sell his share of war booty until he has taken possession of it, and should not ride an animal from the spoils of fay’ until he returns it after making it weak, nor should he wear a garment from the fay’ until he returns it after making it old.”
Hadith 3900
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ بَدْرٍ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ فُلَانًا غَلَّ قَطِيفَةً مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ، فَسَأَلَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «هَلْ فَعَلْتَ؟» قَالَ: لَا، فَنَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي أَخْبَرَهُ، فَقَالَ: «احْفِرُوا هَاهُنَا»، فَحَفَرُوا، فَاسْتَخْرَجُوا الْقَطِيفَةَ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: «دَعُونَا مِنَ الْأَخِرِ»
On the day of Badr, a man complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) that so-and-so had hidden a cloak from the spoils of war. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Did you do this?" He denied it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Dig here." The cloak was found, so the companions said: "Pray for him." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Leave him."
Hadith 3901
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَّامٍ يُحَدِّثُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ: غَزَوْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ أَرْضَ الرُّومِ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ الدَّرْبَ قَامَ فِي النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ: «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، لَا نَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ بِالْخَيْطِ وَالْمَخِيطِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ غُلُولٌ»
Abu Salam (may Allah have mercy on him) informed Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him): We went with Abdur Rahman bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) towards the Romans. When we reached Darb, he announced: "Do not take even a thread or a needle from the enemy's land; this would be betrayal."
Hadith 3902
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو السَّيْبَانِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي رَجُلٍ يَحْتَاجُ فِي أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ إِذَا غَنِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْخَيْطَ، وَالْمَخِيطَ، وَالشَّعَرَ، وَالْعُرَى: «فَلَا يَسْتَحِلُّهُ حَتَّى يُؤَدِّيَ ثَمَنَهُ»
Ibn Muhairiz, may Allah have mercy on him, used to say: "If Muslims seize hair, thread, or small items in the enemy's territory, it is not permissible to use them until their price is paid."
Hadith 3903
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكُبَّةِ شَعَرٍ مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا نَعْمَلُ الشَّعَرَ، فَهَبْهَا لِي، فَقَالَ: «نَصِيبِي مِنْهَا لَكَ»
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and brought a ball of wool from the spoils, saying: "We work with wool, so give this to us." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "My share in it, I have given to you."
Hadith 3904
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ أَنَّ حَنَشًا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رُوَيْفِعَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «يَرْكَبُ أَحَدُكُمُ الدَّابَّةَ حَتَّى إِذَا نَقَصَهَا رَدَّهَا فِي الْمَقَاسِمِ، فَأَيُّ غُلُولٍ أَشَدُّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ؟ وَيَلْبَسُ أَحَدُكُمُ الثَّوْبَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخْلَقَهُ رَدَّهُ فِي الْمَقَاسِمِ، فَأَيُّ غُلُولٍ أَشَدُّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ»
Ruwaif bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "If a person rides an enemy's property and returns it after weakening it, or wears a cloth and returns it after making it old, then what could be a greater betrayal than this?"
Hadith 3905
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: {أَفَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ} [آل عمران: 162] قَالَ: «مَنْ لَمْ يَغُلَّ» {كَمَنْ بَاءَ بِسَخْطٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ} [آل عمران: 162] قَالَ: «كَمَنْ غَلَّ»
Imam Dhahhak (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Whoever is submissive to Allah's pleasure is the one who does not betray, and whoever is subject to Allah's wrath is the one who betrays."
